Political Science Requirements for the B.A. and B.S. Degrees (36 Hours)
Political Science students may pursue either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree. It is strongly recommended that majors enroll in the methods course (GOV 393 I) in their sophomore or junior year and that MAT 111 be taken before enrolling in GOV 393 I.
Students wishing to pursue teacher certification should complete the major in Political Science (B.A. or B.S.) as well as a major in secondary education.
All majors must complete the following courses (6 hours):
Students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of GOV courses. At least one course (among major electives) must be a 400-level research course. All 400-level courses, with the exception of GOV 496 and 498, require students to complete a substantial research project.
