PSY 343 - Psychology and Pediatric Oncology

This course focuses on the application of health psychology to children and their families who are experiencing childhood cancer including the topics of coping with a chronic illness, stages of death and dying, methods to improve prognosis and quality of life, adjusting to life post-cancer, and how pediatric cancer influences family dynamics.  It includes extensive engagement with patients and their families enabling direct application of psychological concepts.  Course fee.
