EDU 341 - Science Methods for Middle Grades and Secondary

Exploration of scientific core ideas, concepts, practices.  Research-based theory and methods will be explored with an emphasis on core ideas in each natural science discipline as well as cross-cutting concepts.  In this course we will examine various teaching models with attention to different classroom and lab settings, integration of STEM topics, and opportunities for implementation in college-base lab assistantships.  Pedagogical topics will include Next Generation Science Standards and state standards, assessment techniques and current issues pertaining to science education.
