KIN 319 I - Sport and Society

A comprehensive study of the sociocultural factors that influence the relationship between sport and our society.  Using an interdisciplinary approach, the course addresses such areas as class, race, and gender; the mass media and popular culture; politics and the economy; education and socialization; individual differences and other cross-cultural considerations; and emerging trends in sport, physical activity, and wellness.
