EDU 201 - Language and Gender (Foundations F4c)

3-0-3

Through an interdisciplinary perspective, this course aims at helping students develop thinking and understanding of the complex intersections of language and gender and other social roles (e.g., race, class) as well as their ideologies as they are displayed in public/private spaces and as an ongoing practice in our modern society.  It helps expand our horizons by examining the ways languages convey concepts such as masculinity, femininity, status, and solidarity.
