The Department of Nursing offers a program of study in nursing leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing that leads to eligibility for initial licensure as a registered nurse. This program has developmental approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing and will seek initial accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Additionally, the Nursing faculty serve as the advisors for students interested in the Dual Degree Nursing Program with Emory University.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four year program. The first two years of course work provide the strong liberal arts and science foundation vital for preparing the professional with critical thinking, clinical reasoning, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills essential to meet the health care realities of the future. The upper division nursing major is a four semester sequence at the junior and senior level where students will participate in a highly interactive classroom and simulation laboratory with fellow students and faculty dedicated to a positive collaborative environment of learning. Graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing leads to eligibility for initial licensure as a registered nurse. ProgramsMajor
