The following must be taken by all sociology and anthropology majors:

• Prerequisites (9 hours):

• ANT 200 - Cultural Anthropology (Foundations F3b, F4c) 3-0-3
• MAT 111 - Elementary Statistics (Foundations F2a) 3-0-3
• SOC 200 - Introduction to Sociology (Foundations F3b & F4c) 3-0-3

• Intermediate Requirements (6 hours):

• SOC 300 I - Social Theory 3-0-3 or
• ANT 300 I - Social Theory 3-0-3
• SOC 305 I - Social-Science Research Methods 3-0-3 or
• ANT 305 I - Social Science Research Methods 3-0-3

• Capstone Requirement (3 hours):

Sociology Concentration Electives: four of the following courses (at least 12 hours):

Majors must also complete nine additional hours of SOC or ANT courses, or courses in other disciplines approved by the department. (Please see your advisor or the department chair for a list of these courses.) These courses may not count toward the major’s area of concentration.
