Education Leadership M.Ed.

Beginning in summer 2017, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission will require that teachers earn an M.Ed. in Education Leadership before earning the Education Specialist degree. The requirements for the M.Ed in Education Leadership are noted below.
Teachers who already have a masters degree in education may add the Education Leadership certification if they complete the add-on courses listed below. Candidates seeking to add-on the Education Leadership certification must have School Law and Ethics and Introduction to School Administration as pre-service courses. If candidates do not have these courses, they will be required to take EDU 681 - Legal and Ethical Issues in Education and EDU 682 - Introduction to School Administration as part of the add-on certificate.
Teachers who already have an Education Specialist degree may add the Educational Leadership certificate by completing the add-on certificate for Educational Leadership. Candidates must have a course in school law and ethics and curriculum. If candidates do not have these pre-service courses then they will be required to take EDU 707 - Design and Evaluation of Curriculum and Programming and EDU 713 - Ethical Decision Making for Leaders as part of the add-on certificate.
