Required History Courses (36 hours):

• HIS 120 - Foundations of Modern America (Foundations F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 154 - World History to 1550 (Foundations F3b & F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 155 - World History Since 1550 (Foundations F3b & F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 491 I - Historiography 3-0-3

•  Plus an additional 24 hours of history electives, including 6 hours of upper-division (300-400 level) courses in United States history, and 6 hours of upper-division courses in European and/or world history. At least one elective History course at the 300-400 level must concentrate on a period before AD 1500, and at least one elective History course at the 300-400 level must concentrate on non-western History.  No more than two History courses at the 200-level may be applied toward the major.

Concentration: History Plus Global Issues

• In the History core requirements 3 of the 6 hours of History electives must be non-U.S. history.

• HIS 402 - History + X Capstone 0-0-1

• Complete either a study abroad or internship abroad*:

• HIS 496 - Academic Internship 3 to 12 hours Or
• SPA 496 FLA - Academic Internship 3 to 12 hours Or
• GER 496FLA - Academic Internship 3 to 12 hours Or
• FRE 496FLA - Academic Internship 3 to 12 hours

• *Internship may also be used to satisfy History core or the Minor requirements.

Required Minor:

Complete either a French Minor  (9-21 hours), a German Minor  (9-21 hours), a Spanish Minor  (9-21 hours), an International Studies Minor  (18 hours), or a Latin American and Caribbean Studies Minor  (18 hours).
