Required History Courses (36 hours):

• HIS 120 - Foundations of Modern America (Foundations F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 154 - World History to 1550 (Foundations F3b & F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 155 - World History Since 1550 (Foundations F3b & F4a) 3-0-3
• HIS 491 I - Historiography 3-0-3

•  Plus an additional 24 hours of history electives, including 6 hours of upper-division (300-400 level) courses in United States history, and 6 hours of upper-division courses in European and/or world history. At least one elective History course at the 300-400 level must concentrate on a period before AD 1500, and at least one elective History course at the 300-400 level must concentrate on non-western History.  No more than two History courses at the 200-level may be applied toward the major.

Concentration: History Plus Writing

• HIS 299 - History Practicum - Public Presentation 1-0-0
• HIS 402 - History + X Capstone 0-0-1

• Complete one additional WI course beyond those used to fulfill the general degree requirements. 
  Note: This course may be counted towards the History major, or English, Creative Writing, Philosophy, or Public Relations minors.

Required Minor:

Complete either an English Minor  , a Creative Writing Minor , a Philosophy Minor , or a Public Relations Minor  .
