Political Science Requirements for the B.A. and B.S. Degrees (36 Hours)


Political Science students may pursue either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree. It is strongly recommended that majors enroll in the methods course (POL 393 I ) in their sophomore or junior year and that MAT 111  be taken before enrolling in POL 393 I 

Students wishing to pursue teacher certification should complete the major in Political Science (B.A. or B.S.) as well as a major in secondary education .

One course in political philosophy chosen from (3 hours):


Elective Courses (18 hours):


Students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of POL courses. At least one course (among major electives) must be a 400-level research course. All 400-level courses, with the exception of POL 496 and 498, require students to complete a substantial research project.
