The Data Science major is intended for students who plan to pursue a career as professional data scientists. This major combines core coverage of mathematics knowledge and computing skills with data science applications, enabling students to go on to graduate studies or positions requiring expertise in the use and development of data science algorithms, tools and methods.
Note: Students may not earn a major and minor in the same discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science) within the department, nor multiple concentrations within the Mathematics major. Students may combine any two majors between Computer Science, Data Science, and Mathematics, but may not earn a major simultaneously in all three programs.
