The Evans School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences offers degree programs in fine, performing and communication arts; history, languages and letters; philosophy and religion; and the social sciences - here defined as government and international studies and sociology and anthropology. These disciplines provide a wide range of coursework in support of the college mission and promote the mission by teaching critical thinking, sound values and cultural appreciation.
Students majoring in programs available through the Evans School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences receive the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.), as designated with the major.
As principal custodian of liberal studies, the Evans School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences trains students for effective communication, appreciation of the arts and humanities, understanding society and engagement with the perennial concerns of philosophy and theology. The Evans School faculty is committed to pursuing excellence in scholarship, teaching, and mentoring in these areas.
