The Department of Physics & Technology offers three different majors in physics, each designed for students with different goals.  The Professional Track major is intended for students planning for graduate study in physics or astronomy.  The Applied Physics major is designed for students interested in engineering-related careers, including students participating in Berry’s dual-degree engineering program.  The General Physics major is intended for students who want a smaller and more flexible major, including those who plan to complete a dual-major in Secondary Education to become high school physics teachers.  The department also offers a major in Creative Technologies, an innovative major that combines studies in technology, computer science, and business to help students develop new technologies to meet societal needs.  Minors in both Physics and Creative Technologies are also available.  In addition, the department coordinates Berry’s dual-degree engineering partnerships with Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State university.  Dual-degree engineering students typically spend three years at Berry and two years at the partner school to earn both a Berry BS degree and a BS in engineering from the partner school.  Minors in Physics, Creative Technologies, and Geology are also offered.

Foundations Coursework

While the department offers a variety of courses that fulfill Foundations requirements, the course listed below are recommended for non-science majors seeking to fulfill the Foundations natural science requirement.
