General education courses in kinesiology are designed to inform students about subjects of health, fitness and first aid, along with developing skills in the areas of sports, aquatics and adventure-type activities. Emphasis is based on carry-over values for lifetime participation and enjoyment.
The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. The major offers candidates a solid foundation for graduate studies in athletic training, physical therapy and/or exercise science specialties and will serve as preparation for fitness and wellness career opportunities.
The department also offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Leadership and Strategy. The major prepares candidates for graduate work and career opportunities in community, interscholastic, intercollegiate, and professional sport.
