Elective Courses (18 hours):

Students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of POL courses. At least one course (among major electives) must be a 400-level research course. If a 400-level course is used to fulfill one of the field requirements, that course also counts to fulfill the 400-level elective requirement. All 400-level courses, with the exception of POL 496 and 498, require students to complete a substantial research project.
